Pre & Post Op
Indications
At Heal Physio Rehab, we support patients both before and after surgery with tailored physiotherapy programs designed to speed up recovery and improve outcomes. Pre-operative rehab (or "prehab") helps strengthen key muscles, improve joint mobility, and prepare the body for surgery—often leading to smoother and faster recovery. After surgery, our post-operative rehabilitation focuses on pain control, restoring range of motion, rebuilding strength, and correcting movement patterns. Whether you're recovering from joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, fracture fixation, or spinal surgery, our goal is to help you regain function safely and return to your daily activities with confidence.

Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
Physiotherapy is essential after knee replacement surgery to restore mobility, reduce swelling, and regain muscle strength. At Heal Physio Rehab, we guide patients through progressive knee flexion/extension exercises, gait retraining, and functional strengthening. Early movement is key to avoiding stiffness, while long-term rehab supports a smooth return to walking, stairs, and daily life with less pain and better joint control.

Total Hip Replacement (THR)
Post-hip replacement rehab focuses on restoring mobility, strength, and stability in the hip and surrounding muscles. Very common after THR is patient develops Trendelenburg gait. We provide structured therapy to improve walking patterns, prevent falls, and reduce compensations. Our program includes safe mobility training, progressive strengthening, and education on movement precautions to help patients regain independence and prevent long-term imbalance.

Fracture
Following fracture surgery (such as ORIF), physiotherapy helps reduce post-immobilisation stiffness, swelling, and weakness. We provide controlled mobilisation, gradual strengthening, and joint-specific rehab to restore function. Whether it’s a wrist, ankle, shoulder, or femur fracture, our goal is to regain normal movement, prevent long-term limitations, and support safe return to daily or work activity.

Rotator Cuff Injury
After rotator cuff surgery, the shoulder requires careful rehabilitation to prevent stiffness and regain strength. We guide patients through each phase, from passive range-of-motion exercises to progressive strengthening and overhead control. Our approach supports tissue healing while helping patients restore shoulder mobility, stability, and functional use in daily or athletic tasks.

ACL Reconstruction
ACL surgery requires a detailed and progressive rehab plan to regain knee stability and sport readiness. At Heal Physio Rehab, we start with swelling control and mobility, followed by strength training, neuromuscular retraining, and return-to-sport testing. Pre-operative physio is also recommended to improve strength and outcomes. We aim to restore full function with reduced risk of re-injury.

Meniscus Surgery
Rehab after meniscus surgery varies depending on whether the tissue is repaired or removed. We guide patients through safe loading of the knee, swelling control, range-of-motion restoration, and strengthening. Our goal is to help patients regain pain-free mobility, return to sport or work, and prevent further joint degeneration through proper muscle control.

Spinal Surgery (Discectomy, Laminectomy, Fusion)
Post-spinal surgery physiotherapy focuses on restoring spinal mobility, relieving nerve-related symptoms, and building core strength. Our rehab includes posture correction, movement retraining, and safe progressions to return to work or daily function. Whether it's lower back or neck surgery, our goal is long-term pain management and prevention of compensatory issues.

Achilles Tendon Repair
After surgical repair of the Achilles tendon, gradual and structured rehab is key. We begin with protected weight-bearing, mobility work, and progress to calf strengthening, balance training, and functional loading. Our therapy aims to rebuild tendon strength, improve gait, and support a safe return to walking, running, or sport-specific demands.

Carpal Tunnel Release
After carpal tunnel surgery, physiotherapy helps restore hand and wrist motion, reduce scar tightness, and improve grip strength. We guide gentle mobilisation, nerve gliding, and functional strengthening exercises. Our goal is to relieve lingering numbness or stiffness, support fine motor recovery, and return patients to typing, lifting, or daily hand use comfortably.

Heel Spur
In cases where conservative treatment fails surgery for heel spurs or chronic plantar fasciitis may be needed. Post-operative physiotherapy focuses on reducing swelling, restoring foot flexibility, and improving walking comfort. At Heal Physio Rehab, we guide recovery with soft tissue mobilisation, stretching, foot muscle strengthening, and gait correction. Rehab also addresses compensations in the ankle, knee, or hip caused by prolonged foot pain. Our goal is to restore pain-free mobility and prevent recurrence through proper load distribution and long-term foot support.
